Did you know that our native British bees are dying out?

Without doubt bees are the most precious and amazing little creatures of our ecological system. Bees are vital elements of our ecosystem as they provide pollination to a large variety of plants – and Healthy Bees are an indication for a Healthy Environment.

Nevertheless the existence of bees is threatened by our impact on the environment and our behaviour. As a result, the bee population all over the world is steadily declining.

If not for the sake of our bees, it is for our own sake that we better ensure the survival of our bees.

Here are 10 things you can do to to Help Save Bees:-

1  Stop using pesticides

2  Plant bee-friendly plants in your garden (click here for a list of recommended plants from the daily.green.com)

3  Create natural habitat gardens (click here for tips on making a pollinator-friendly garden)

4  Find our more about bees (click here for further information…)

5  Support your local beekeepers by buying their honey and beeswax! find them here: http://www.bbka.org.uk/

Make your own Wild Bee House

7  Become a bee-keeper yourself (your local beekeepers will be able to point you in the right direction) – http://www.bbka.org.uk/

Lobby your local MP or MEP

9  Sign petitions banning pesticides – https://secure.avaaz.org/en/save_the_bees/

10  Buy organic food: Organic farmers don’t use neonicitinoid pesticides which have a major impact on bees. They also have more complex crop rotations, which means that there is a greater diversity of plants for bees to forage on. Supporting organic farmers at the checkout is an everyday action with a big impact.
